amdavad.rent is a free, anonymous map of real rents across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar — built so renters can see what people nearby actually pay, instead of inflated broker quotes.
Rental listings in these cities are scattered across broker WhatsApp groups, word of mouth, and paywalled portals — and asking prices are rarely close to what neighbors actually pay. We wanted a single, honest, publicly visible map of real rent data anyone can check before they negotiate.
How it works
Drop a rent pin. Anyone can drop a pin with the rent they pay — no login, no signup, no app. It stays anonymous; we never show who submitted it.
Find a property. Looking for a place? Drop a seeker pin with your budget and property type, and get emailed the moment a nearby match appears.
List directly. Owners can list their property directly on the map, with zero brokerage and no middleman.
Why we built this
Rent data should be public and free, the same way it would be if neighbors simply talked to each other. amdavad.rent is our attempt to make that conversation visible on a map, at city scale.

About the creator
amdavad.rent is built and maintained solo by Ajit. It started after one too many house-hunts spent chasing broker quotes that had little to do with what people nearby were actually paying — so he built the map he wished existed: anonymous, crowdsourced, and free for anyone to use or contribute to.
It's a side project, run in spare time, with no funding and no growth targets — just an ongoing effort to make renting in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar a little more transparent. Found a bug or have an idea that would make it better? It goes straight to Ajit.
